The Transparent Spirit Elevation Chamber

“Step Right Up!! Enter the Transparent Spirit Elevation Chamber! Walk through these doors into a world of wonder! Set your heart free! Be at one with the magnificent magical world of nature! See birds fly by right before your very eyes! Feel your spirit lift up above the clouds into the clear blue sky! Come one come all…”

T.S.E.C. is a temporary, portable Public Art installation activated through Performance Art. It is specifically designed to foster community participation. The overall goal is to welcome participants with a sense of happiness, joy and belonging. This installation draws on the principal approach of simple direct interaction and playfulness with minimal production used by artists in the early 1900's from Dada to Surrealism, while further incorporating the union of Art & Technology that emerged with the Bauhaus era to create an illusory utopian vision.

This artist-initiated project was made possible by Forecast Public Art with funding from the Lowertown Future Fund and the City of
Saint Paul Cultural STAR.

This portable Public Art installation was featured at Northern Spark and the St. Paul Art Crawl in 2017. The work has been featured in subsequent years at the Gamut Gallery Block Party and NE Sculpture Gallery Factory. The installation is adaptable and scalable to integrate with exhibitions, festivals and workshops.
